Just four days after receiving my first 2 postcards, here is another one. The sender forgot to include the Posctcard ID, good thing though, the card has her address. I managed to browse/search through profiles, and luckily found the sender resembling her name.

LILAC FESTIVAL
HIGHLAND PARK
Rochester, New York

The arrival of spring heralds Lilac Time in Rochester usually in May, rarely in late April or early June. Highland Park in Rochester is the site of the world's largest public display of Lilacs spread over 15 acres. This magnificent collection of over 528 varieties includes more than 1500 shrubs.

This came from Lisa of Rochester, where all Kodak cameras came from. First postcard with a purple theme, I did mention on my postcrossing profile that I love that color. Great thanks to the sender, she really made me tremendously happy. My reaction made my third son (1 year 7 months old) so curious, so while I'm preoccupied, he grabbed the postcard. That explains why there's a little tear on lower part of the postcard :P.

I became a member of Postcrossing on December 18, 2008. Since that day, I've eagerly been checking my mailbox, filled with excitement, hoping to receive my first postcrossing postcard.

After almost two months, the long-awaited moment finally arrived, catching me off guard. To my pleasant surprise, not one, but two postcards were waiting for me in the mail. Both postcards were absolutely lovely, one from the Netherlands and the other from the United Kingdom. It was a delightful surprise that made my day!

HARDENBERG

The postcard, sent by Evelien, beautifully showcases the view of the town where she studies.

CROATIA : SPIRIT OF THE MEDITERRANEAN

The postcard, sent by Agi (hope I spelled it right) of Croatia, features a captivating view of the sea. It's wonderful to receive a glimpse of this young European country through the postcard. Agi mentioned that he lives near the seaside, which is really cool!

Receiving postcards from both origins was a delightful surprise for me, as the places were entirely new and unfamiliar. Curiosity got the best of me, and I couldn't resist diving into more information about these locations on Wikipedia. This postcrossing idea is truly captivating, as it opens up a whole new world of discovery, allowing me to explore and learn about fascinating places I never knew existed before. I'm already falling in love with this wonderful journey of exploration!

Being on the receiving end of jokes about my flaws, especially when they pertain to something I can't change, makes me feel more insecure. It's disheartening, and it becomes even more frustrating when these jests come from mere acquaintances. I can tolerate jokes about my habits or the way I dress, but when it comes to my physical flaws, it stings more deeply. As a result, I am always mindful not to make similar jokes about others, especially if I know it could potentially hurt them.

Respecting others' feelings and being sensitive to their vulnerabilities is essential to maintaining positive and healthy relationships. By refraining from joking about topics that may cause emotional harm, we create an environment of empathy and understanding. It's important to treat others with the same kindness and compassion that we hope to receive ourselves. Ultimately, fostering a culture of mutual respect and support leads to stronger connections and a more harmonious social dynamic.

Having three kids, my youngest is 11 months old, it's like forever changing diapers, making milk, feeding babies. Wish I could have more time-off for myself, I don't have time to enjoy night-outs anymore. It's always with the kids, to the mall with the kids, to the movies with the kids. It's not that I really don't want to spend time with them, but you know, I need at least some time-off, even for just once in a year.
